Add 1L Full Synthetic Transmission Fluid

When you are installing the transmission cooler you may want to top-up the transmission fluid.  Select the “Add 1L Full Synthetic Transmission Fluid” option from the drop-down menu to add 1L of Full Synthetic Transmission Fluid.

WARNING!!  

  • Never install a multi-piece transmission cooler bracket or one that includes the transmission cooler as part of the bracket structure.  They are prone to fatigue and failure.
  • Never install a stainless steel transmission cooler bracket. Stainless steel induces corrosion in your aluminium cooler. Just google “stainless steel and aluminium” to find out more.

Transmission oil cooler

Once I moved the winch forward the supplied bracket made it very easy to install the only drama was fitting the hoses to the transmission pipes while lying under the car would have been easier on a hoist. The oil temp has dropped significantly under normal load still to be tested towing . So far very happy with the cooler 👍

Transmission oil cooler installation and effectiveness.

I installed the oil cooler because I tow a 2.6 tonne caravan. Installation was pretty straight forward and would be easier with small hands and a hoist but doable for anyone with a bit of mechanical aptitude and experience with tools.
The trans cooler does what it is supposed to do and even on long, steep climbs with the van in tow the temp is stable around 90-95 deg C.
Worth the money.

Great kit.

Great kit fast delivery. Someone does need to check the kit has everything in the box prior to shipping as I was missing the cooler hoses. I did ring and they were very quick to send out the hoses for me so thank you.
