Description

Important: Installation requires an ECU reset using a Workshop Scan Tool

The AC60 Valve Body fitment must also include a reset to the Transmission Adaptive system prior to test driving with the upgraded valve body. You will require a Workshop Scan Tool in order to achieve this. At no time can this vehicle be driven once the valve body has been installed until the Transmission Adaptive system has been reset.

What makes your valve body replacement better than just a re map of transmission computer? GAVIN MORTON asked on July 21, 2026

You can do both and the remap does have its drivability advantages but does nothing for the reliability of the transmission. The factory valve bodies have faults, most to do with severe valve bore ware and leak-by. When we build a Nomad valve body we increase base-line pressures, increase lock-up pressure, improve cooler flow, test each valve body for leak down problems and modify to stop this from happening again. Eliminate all leak down problems and we can even reduce valve ware by 95% simply by reducing transmission temperatures. You transmission becomes fully serviced and flushed with new oil, oil filter, pan gasket and case sleave. All OEM upgrades are done. This takes 4-5 hours to complete. A flash tune does not do any of these things, takes 15 minutes and you are changed almost the same amount of money and leaves you with no transmission service and no OEM updates.

All that being said I have no problem with a flash tune, but it does NOTHING for the transmission’s reliability, maintenance or anything to help with known OEM faults. It just moves shift points and lock-up points around. I’m sure that some flash tune will help drivability but once again does nothing whatsoever for the transmission’s reliability, cooling or maintenance.

Please don’t think that I am bagging out flash tunes as I’m not, I believe they have place but it is early days for these tunes and remember they do nothing to help the transmissions reliability in any way.
